Recovering missionary email/photos

Update to previous post:

**Effective December 5, 2025, the technology message sent to departing missionaries was updated to include detailed instructions for exporting missionary.org data and to inform that the retention period for missionary email accounts has changed from 90 days to 60 days. Beginning March 8, 2026, all missionary email accounts will expire 60 days after departure and release from the mission.**

Missionary.org email accounts (including photos, drive, etc.) will no longer be accessible 60 days after a missionary's release date. If no longer accessible, some Missionary.org email accounts may be retrieved up to 90 days after release by following these instructions:

1) Visit mail.missionary.org in a web browser (not the Gmail app).
2) Sign in using your Church Account Credentials.
3) Select Extend Access.
4) Click on Go to Individual Email.

It is recommended that you move all data (mail, photos, Drive documents, etc.) from your Missionary.org account prior to the initial 60 day expiration or before the extended date, if access has been extended. By doing so will ensure that you retain your data.
