Booking appointments/tithing settlement

Post by pabloh007 »

As we approach the end of the year. Our ward has looked ways for help streamline the process of signing up for tithing settlement. Searching on the forum there are many hybrid solutions to handle appointments. From using signup genius to maybe google doc forms. Previously I worked on a project to send mass sms messages per ward and this year I implemented the ability to manage appointments from the same app including sending text reminders about scheduled appointments from temple recommend interviews to just bishop interviews. I just released two new offerings

1.) ability for members to book their own appointments.

2.) ability for members to register themselves to use the application

How it works.
1.) members register themselves meaning they opt in to use the app. Similar to signup genius.

2.) members can then book an appointment through the application. Ward leadership can define the dates/ time slots available
- Admin can configure dates available for appointments, appointments available to members where they can book themselves.
- admin can book broader set of appointment types like, bishop interviews patriarchal blessings etc..

3.) when a booking is submitted admin users/emails will be notified that a appointment was booked and then you can confirm through the admin side.

4.) Optional and if opted in through twilio you can send a reminder text of the appointment

App is free to use for appointments and texting requires use of twilio and each ward needs to set that up before hand. Once that is done it is straight forward connect twilio with ward pager.

This is a feature that this year helped our ward and hopefully it will help others as well.
