New Temple Reservation problem with multiple reservations

Post by elz0rr0 »

The new temple reservation system has a problem when I reserve multiple reservations for sealings. When I reserve for a group of 8, it reserves it but then the next 3 slots are greyeout even though they still show as 8 are available for those next 3 slots. For example, if I reserve for the 6pm slot for 8 people, it shows that are now 0 available for that time but then for the 6:10, 6:20, and 6:30 slots it is greyedout but it shows for each that there are still 8 slots. So I can't reserve those until for the 6:40 time. This worked fine in the old system. I was able to reserve 4 time slots for my ward.

I figured out a work around. I had to remove my spouse from the reservation, then add another female guest. Then I had my wife reserve the next slot with no spouse and add an extra male guest. Also, it said 7 as the limit but they are 8 available. So the seems like a typo or miscalculation on how many are available. In any case, by having multiple people do the individual time slots I was able to reserve all the slots next to each other. I think that someone taught that it was not possible for someone to reserve a sealings next to each other because there was not enough time to go to the next reservation, but didn't accounted for ward temple night group reservations.

Some temples, maybe all, save a few spots for walk-ins in various ordinances.

The next time you're at your temple, you might go into the office and talk with the temple workers there about your situation. It seems you're referring to two different issues, first about reserving consecutive sealing sessions, the other about the amount of open slots. As @garystoble mentions, most temples now have dedicated open slots for walkins, and your temple can confirm if the online system accurately reflects how they've organized things.

But it would also be good to know if the new system allows for reserving consecutive sealing sessions -- if it does not easily allow this, the other alternative is to contact the temple with your request and have them do the legwork to reserve the sessions for you.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm aware of the walk-ins. They show up the next to the available seats. 8 seats 2 walk-ins. I'm okay with the walk-ins.
I called the temple and the scheduling sister said that they do all scheduling through the website, but was going to check with someone more experienced and call me back to see if there is a different way to do large groups. The main issue is that in the new system, they change the ability to do consecutive sessions.
