YouTube broadcasting
Our new area Seventy stated in Coordinating Council to not use YouTube for any broadcasts. Is there a new church policy on using YouTube? We have used it for three years. We now usethe YoloBox and it is setup by church specifications, no laptop required. sing Zoom requires a laptop and we have sound issues with Zoom.

Re: YouTube broadcasting
As we prepared for stake conference several weeks ago, we were instructed by our visiting general authority to use Zoom instead of YouTube Live. We explained that the stake did not own the equipment to run Zoom, that the FM Group would not provide it, how much it would cost to obtain it, that our audiovisual rack could not natively feed Zoom, and that even if we used Zoom, we would still have to use YT for the overflow viewers over the maximum of 500 that Zoom provides. We said that our rack could natively feed YT with no additional cost and that we had been successfully doing it for years even before the Church invested in Zoom accounts.wcovey wrote: Tue Oct 06, 2026 12:16 pm Our new area Seventy stated in Coordinating Council to not use YouTube for any broadcasts. The answer came back to continue doing what we were doing.
I do not have the citations handy, but I know that the Church has said they prefer we use Zoom. But they have never said we cannot use YouTube. We actively use Zoom for other stake and ward meetings that are not webcast.

Re: YouTube broadcasting
Our stake uses Zoom for everything.
For stake conferences, our members are expected to attend in-person when possible.
If a member is unable to attend in-person (mobility restrictions, traveling, etc.) they are advised to reach out to their EQ/RS Presidency for a personal Zoom invitation. This encourages attendance and drastically cuts down on unnecessarily chewing up Zoom access licenses.
