Managing photos
I believe there used to be a Managing Photos link which opened up the photo directory showing who had photos and who did not. I haven't used this for a few weeks, but now I can't seem to find it. Has it been eliminated, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Re: Managing photos
That tool was removed a number of years ago when the LCR user interface and menus were redesigned. It was replaced by the Approve Photos tool. There is no longer an interface to view or manage all unit photos at once.

Re: Managing photos
In case it's helpful, here's the path to approve photos in Leader and Clerk Resources:
LCR.ChurchofJesusChrist.org > Membership > Approve Photos.
This is currently available to the bishop, bishopric counselors, executive secretary and assistant executive secretary, ward clerk, assistant ward clerk, and assistant ward clerk for membership.
LCR.ChurchofJesusChrist.org > Membership > Approve Photos.
This is currently available to the bishop, bishopric counselors, executive secretary and assistant executive secretary, ward clerk, assistant ward clerk, and assistant ward clerk for membership.

Re: Managing photos
On the approve photos page, there used to be another tab - one that showed you all the people in the unit so you could see who has photos and who doesn't. We also used to be able to upload photos of unit members and that is missing. I'm an Assistant Ward Clerk and the Ward Clerk also doesn't have these options anymore. I'm not sure when it was removed, as I hadn't been doing much with photos in the past several months. But now we were trying to make an effort to update photos and it seems that we can't. Did that change so that only members can update them now? That wouldn't be great, as we probably only get maybe 5 members who update their photos in a year. And some members will never get around to it and might send me a picture to post for them.

Re: Managing photos
I addressed that in post #2 of this thread. The interface redesign didn't eliminate the ability of clerks to edit, delete, add, or replace photos. Instead, Manage Photos, was replaced with the Photos to Approve link in the Actions and Messages section the of the LCR home page for the same leaders who are listed in the Feature Access by Calling. The ability to delete, edit, and add photos in LCR is now done in individual member records. Household photos are done at the Household tab in a membership record.mevans wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2026 4:10 pm On the approve photos page, there used to be another tab - one that showed you all the people in the unit so you could see who has photos and who doesn't.
While this thread addresses managing photos in LCR, I will mention that those same leaders who can manage photos in LCR can also use Member Tools. I find the Member Tools implementation easier and it includes uploading a new photo with an additional edit tool, Take Photo.

Re: Managing photos
Okay, I just clicked on one of the faceless icons and it prompted me to upload a photo. It wasn't working for me yesterday and today it was sluggish and then started working better. I guess to replace a photo, I need to delete the existing photo and then we can upload a new one.
What I was referring to on Approve Photos: somewhat recently (I'm pretty sure within the past year) there used to be another tab that let me see everyone in the ward and whether or not they had a photo. I don't remember if what I looked at recently allowed me to do bulk uploads like you used to be able to do or if it just showed me. That's what's missing now. With your post #2, I thought you were referring to the photo directory of members that any unit member could access. I know that was removed several years ago.
