Stake Clerk

I need to remove some users from the stake computer. I can remove all the checkmarks, rendering former users as inactive, but seemingly cannot remove them completely.

Is there a trick for this?

It's a common question. If the person had used their login for any financial transactions, they can not be deleted until the retention period for those transactions are up. That's 3 years in the U.S.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

3 years plus current. That means they will be automatically removed at the start of the 5th calendar year after the date their last financial transaction (I think I got the math right).

I instruct clerks in our stake to click on the username to be replaced the put in a new user name and link that to the MLS membership of the new person and have them creat their password, or assign them one. That prevents the creation of long lists of people who are no longer active on MLS.
I don't know how that affects traceability, but must suppose that the handwritten initials on the batch reports are sufficient for tracing. I can't think of any reason for tracing membership, but suppose there may be some. Membership record changes could be traced by the logins of who did them, which I think are in Windows, rather than MLS.

This is ill advised as you will be creating far greater problems that you are solving. See this postin response to your post in another thread.

All users of MLS must log in using the same Windows profile. MLS tracks data entry by the MLS username used at MLS login.
