In stake Events listing, a "reservation" shows with calendar events

#1

Post by kisaac »

When viewing my stake, and selecting the stake center icon, the display box opens and shows "events" from the stake calendar(s?) It also shows a reservation, and probably should not, as a reservation is not an event. This reservation DOES NOT show on the calendar, unless you go to the "reservations" tab. I'm a building scheduler, so it may only show it to those allowed to see reservations, like myself, but the listing should only be showing actual events, and not reservations.

I'm not sure how useful this events listing is anyway, in the context of "maps." The displayed events are vague; They are out of context, and the event description doesn't pull up, and you don't know which calendar they are pulled from.

No, it's in the right location. In the beta maps, if you click on the meetinghouse icon, in the popup that appears there is a section where you do see a list of events scheduled at that building.

Although you're right about what shows up in the meetinghouse popup in the beta maps app, you're not right about what shows up in the Calendar. Every member can indeed see reservations displayed when they go to the week view and check the box by the building under Available Locations. This has nothing to do with your being a building scheduler, either in the Calendar or in Maps. And here in the context of the maps app, the popup listing events is quite analogous to the Available Locations checkbox in the Calendar, so I can see why the developers chose to make them list the same kind of events.

Notwithstanding what I said above, I do agree with this. All the items in this list are vague when you have only a title, and the reservations are the least useful -- they just take up space in the list without adding much value. Even the events are of questionable value for the reasons kisaac stated.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

And I should have been more clear and stated it's at beta maps issue and not relied on people noticing the forum I posted it to...sorry.

I could see if we had some control over what events where displayed, or which calendar was displayed here, it could be more useful. I'm think of the "news and information" section of classic, where we could list and prioritize what is displayed.
