Problem with iPad indexing

I was excited to see the new app for indexing on the iPhone and iPad, but after downloading it, I can't figure out how it works and there are no instructions. I am not new to indexing, but I can't see anything that looks like the indexing I am familiar with...does anyone have any information on this?
