I understand that "Each calendar and location has its own color icon. You can change these colors. The changes affect your view only, not the entire ward or stake's view."
but...
I was just put in charge of the Stake calendar. Is there a way where I can ever effect, at least what the initial colors are, that come up on the Stake calendar?
Thanks

No, you can't. The colors are distributed based on what calendars the user has selected to subscribe to.david.dunston wrote:I was just put in charge of the Stake calendar. Is there a way where I can ever effect, at least what the initial colors are, that come up on the Stake calendar?

Color Backgrounds
I'm wondering why some of my events have background color while others do not. I'm using the latest Chrome to view and manage. I first noticed this while working with events. Some events that I enter or edit are just fine. They have the background color of my Branch. Others, when I enter or edit, have only text which is light and washed out. How can I ensure that each event has a background color? Thanks!

The events with a colorful background are all day events. Those with only colorful text are hourly events. You can control the colors of these events by changing the color associated with the calendar on which the events are saved. The color menu can be found by clicking on the down arrow next the calendar's name in the Subscribed Calendars list.ronalines wrote:I'm wondering why some of my events have background color while others do not. Re: color
Hi, In trying to help the communication efforts - and eliminate confusion among members and leaders, I am looking for help on the Calendar.
Currently the location dots are all different colors. The unit text color for events held in the same building are the same color as the dots - except for stake events.
For example:
A unit location in this case the Stake Center is assigned an ORANGE dot.
Events on the Stake Calendar have MAROON text.
Ward A and Ward B have ORANGE text.
While the Stake events are easily discernible, the units are not and people have to click on every event to determine to which unit it belongs. This is also the case in another location where multiple units meet - same color dot and text.
I understand the users can pick and choose their color options, but is there a way for units meeting in the same building to have their text be a unique color from all the other units in the stake? And, possibly, not allow a duplication of colors to be used by the end user to save future confusion?
Thanks!

Re: color
It appears to me the colors work this way:
If an event appears on the page due to enabling that event calendar for display, that's the color of the event. (So a unit might have multiple colors - one for each calendar)
If an event appears on the page due to having selected the location, then the event is the color of the location.
There's nothing stopping a user from setting all selected calendars for a unit to have the same color.
What you can't do is set unit colors for events that appear only because the location is selected.
You also can't set colors by location if the calendar is selected (but you can always unselect everything except location calendars).
If you want to change that, I'd suggest using the feedback link along with the "business case" for the change. Right now, I'm not sure how this is impacting usage. As different leaders have different needs, I don't know as there's any one plan that would satisfy all of them.
