Send Text From MLS for Emergency Notification?

Is there any way to send a Mass text using MLS to members who have cell phones listed?

The recent fires in Colorado have us looking for better ways to contact our members in the event of an emergency. It would be a tremendus help if the Ward leadership could send a mass text, like sending a mass email, using MLS.

Is there any possibility of getting this capability?

No.

Keep in mind that not everyone enables SMS on their phones. Some have it blocked.

It seems most of the development effort is on upgrading the website functionality. Since MLS may be in a situation with limited connectivity, it might not work to use MLS to send a mass message.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
