Re-enactment of the crossing of the Mississippi River
Re-enactment of the crossing of the Mississippi River
I would appreciate getting the date for the re-enactment of the crossing of the Mississippi River by outcasts from Missouri
Re: Re-enactment of the crossing of the Mississippi River
Where did you hear of such an event? I did some searching and was unable to find a reference to any such event. There's an annual reenactment of the crossing from Nauvoo heading west (each February), but it sounds like you're talking about a crossing from Missouri heading east.

Just out of curiosity, what is the relevance of this thread, to the Directory?

None. That is why it has been moved.Biggles wrote:Just out of curiosity, what is the relevance of this thread, to the Directory?

Interesting...If you hear of re-enacting a crossing of the Mississippi, maybe the RLDS church had to do that at some point.

It may be unusual, but it did take place around Sep 1988. I know because I held the banner for the William Taylor family group. I have a picture of our group, but failed to note a date.
I'm 92, but I still have my marbles--I hope.
Thanks for your effort.

Re: Re-enactment of the crossing of the Mississippi River
Are you referring to the crossing into Quincy Illinois? There was a re-enactment of that in 1999 I believe. I was on my mission at the time and helped a little with organizing the event. I also held a sign for the Kimball family (might have photos still). I will need to look back through my notes to see if I have an exact date.
