Primary Classes not Syncing from MLS to lds.org

Our ward was recently realigned and we went from 250 primary children to just under 100

Since then we have merged many primary classes together (CTR 8B, CTR 8C ... CTR 8X) into one or two classes, however the old classes are still showing on LDS.ORG, albeit with 0 members. Any idea how I can remove these empty classes from LDS.ORG?

Problems like this occur when MLS gets out of sync with CDOL and/or CMIS. To resync do a unit data refresh. This will pull in the information from CDOL that is displayed on LDS.org into MLS so you can modify or delete the erroneous information. The corrected information is then sent to CDOL and CMIS on the next send/receive. CDOL and CMIIS then update LDS.org.

I am curious about the steps taken to merge those classes. Did you first reset the classes before doing any merging?
