Swapping annual allocations between agent stakes

Post by pwilson »

What is the process for accounting for a "swap" of payments between two agent stakes crediting each other for allocations rather than writing checks to one another? For example if stake A owed stake B $300 for something and stake B owed a different allocation to stake A $300 for something else.

Between stakes, I know of no method other than writing checks. In my experience, there are relatively few such checks each year, so it's not a great burden, and it makes the audit trail and accounting much easier when there's an actual transaction to show that a particular allocation was actually paid.
