Foreign Language Branches/Wards tech questions?


1. Any tech out there that syncs the podium mic volume with the translation equipment volume? I ask because it can be tricky to balance two volumes, while the kids are....ya know, being kids.

2. Also, any discount retailers of wireless headphones for translation equipment? I ask becuase it's difficult early in the morning to have 4 kids, plus grandma, - so 7 headsets, all with wires, passing the sleepign kids around, and thier crayons and notebooks and snacks.

Not that I'm aware of. The transmitter has a automatic level control to keep the volume within the limits of the wireless system. So, nothing external to it is going to be of much help.

2. Also, any discount retailers of wireless headphones for translation equipment?

"Discount" and "translation equipment" doesn't belong in the same sentence. I've not heard of any wireless headsets.

Here in Vicenza there are many Africans attending Italian meetings.
We have a translator with a radio transmitter and several receiver equipments for the English speaker members.
The cost of receivers can be very chip, if it use FM waves, or costly if use dedicated bandwidth.
The first are not good if there are teenagers who can play with the knob to receive commercial radio stations.
Depending on voice system you can have a wall socket or put the translator close to the podium.
