Color printer for the Material Center
We have several Primary teachers who come to the Material Center and want to make color copies, or print color handouts, cut-outs, etc. May we use ward budget funds to purchase a color inkjet printer for the Material Center?

Paragraph 5.1.3 says the same things about printers that 4.2.3 says about computers. Local units are not authorized to use budget funds to purchase either item.

Re: Color printer for the Material Center
The request yesterday was for the color cut-outs used in Primary lessons. The cut-outs are supposed to come with each teacher's packet, but they are often lost. The cut-outs are available for download as JPG or PDF, and I was able to print them in black & white.
Just thinking through our approved options:
- Order new packets for Primary classes from the distribution center.
- Print cut-outs at home at teacher's expense.
- Download to flash drive, and print cut-outs at a copy center, reimbursing from ward budget.
On a related note, it is interesting to see what new teachers assume is available in the Material Center.
- "Can you print documents from a flash drive?"
- "Can you print my lesson from the teacher's manual for students who cannot hear well?"
- "Can you print color handouts?"
