Recording a Sattelite Broadcast

Postby jsto03 » Sat Mar 03, 2018 5:39 pm

We are supposed to take part in a regional broadcast from Salt Lake tomorrow. However, we have been socketed with snow. Our stake president has asked me to look into recording the broadcast tomorrow and we will show it next week. It is coming over the sattelite system as well as via a secure internet link. Any thoughts on how to record it over to a DVD?

Connect a DVD recorder to the satellite system much like you would a TV set. Most DVD recorders have a built-in tuner.

If you're trying to do this via computer, that's going to be tricky. I wouldn't do that without being able to do a lot of testing to make sure it's reliable.

I'd also caution about recording. While it is permitted for time-shifting purposes, use of the recording is very restricted. No other use, personal or church is permitted. (At least that was my interpretation of the letter sent to the stake presidents.)
