Any experiences with digital note taking devices & gospel library?
I'm looking into digital note taking devices to better organize my notes from gospel study and church meetings (e.g. SuperNote, Remarkable, Sony DPT-CP1). I shy away from a "tablet" because I don't like the note taking functionality...these "e-reader" type devices seem to offer a better, near-paper experience. The downside is that they don't appear to offer access to the gospel library app, so I'm wondering if anyone has had any experiences using them by accessing gospel library in alternative formats--perhaps with LDS view software or downloading PDFs and uploading them to the device? Or any experiences using these in general for gospel study & notes from church meetings.

I have been using the Supernote Nomad for a couple of months and love it. Interestingly, I sideloaded the Aurora app store and found gospel library on there. It worked brilliantly for a couple of weeks but now, sadly, it won't open anything that I need to read, such as scriptures, conference talks or anything. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, all the usual stuff but it still won't work. My work around has been to upload pdfs from the church library website. The pdf reader on the supernote is excellent and actually, as a second best option it works really well. I use it at home and in church meetings. It's especially good for making notes as there are several options. The only things I really miss are the options to click on the footnote links. If I'm going to be using a particular section on a regular basis I download that section on a pdf. E.g. I have uploaded all the come follow me manuals as well as scriptures, scripture helps and conference talks. The only way I could get the conference talks though was to upload the Liahona magazine. But as a workaround it works fine. I just hope there is another update to GL soon that fixes the bug so I can use it again on my device. But in the meantime I'm very happy with the workaround.

Have you tried installing the Amazon App Store or Google Play? Gospel Library is officially distributed on Google Play and the Amazon App Store. Aurora Store isn't officially supported.grantl1 wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 4:55 am I sideloaded the Aurora app store and found gospel library on there. It's possible what you found in Aurora was an outdated version that no longer talks to the servers.
I believe the current version for Android is 7.4.0.

Thanks so much for the advice and dare I say 'counsel'. Sadly Amazon don't allow the APK to be used now. However, after a little searching I found the GL APK on Aptoide. I downloaded the store and installed GL and it's working great! Thanks so much for the assist folks. I really appreciate it.
