Reimbursing member without bank account?

#1

Post by mdturner »

Hi all,
I checked in with a member about a reimbursement check I'd mailed her that hadn't cleared yet. Turns out this member doesn't have a bank account and since there's not a Zions Bank here she wasn't sure how she could cash the check. Looks like there places that offer check-cashing services for a fee, but that's not ideal. The only idea I came up with was for her to endorse the check over to a friend who could cash it at their bank. Any other ideas?

That seems to be the easiest way to me. Her friend could also simply deposit the endorsed check in their bank account and pay the member from an ordinary withdrawal, if needed.
