Reports on Time Served in Callings

Our bishopric is relatively new and was interested in seeing a table showing a compilation of all ward members with their callings and the time served in their calling. I was not able to find a way to build a custom report to show "time served" using the custom reports function because "time served" is not a standard attribute. The "date sustained" is available as a custom report feature, but only in connection with the title of the calling.

So, I created a custom report with the name of the member and their calling and sustained date. Then I copied the data into an Excel spreadsheet. Then I copied and pasted the "date sustained" to a new column and used Excel functions (DATEDIF) to calculate the difference in time between the "date sustained" and the current date. This copy and paste exercise was very time consuming as I had to do it for each member individually. Attached is a screen shot of what the resulting table looks like.

Is there a better way to do this? Or, if not, would the Church programmers be willing to add functionality to the custom reports application to make such a report possible without exporting data to Excel?

(And why am I not surprised that one of the longest serving was the Ward Organist?)

We just use the 'Members with Callings' list under Organizations in LCR. While reviewing the list it's pretty easy to quickly estimate how long a person has been serving by the sustained date. You can click the "sustained" column header to sort by that date to scan the list by longest serving.

Funny enough, in relation to russelhltn's comment, our longest serving is a stake music specialist. I know she does something with the organists too.

No filter by how long they have been in a calling. The options are males, females, or both and then you can filter by organization (including down to the class/quorum level). Two checks boxes to show age and show birth date.

Members with callings doesn't have the time filter, but callings by organization done. Once you are in the callings by organization report, click the Options button and then adjust the slider to filter.
