Language breach in donation section?

Language breach in donation section?

My default language is English, and the language in the donation section appears to be either Czech or Croatian - it changes when the page is refreshed.

It is not affected by changing the language setting in the personal information section of the account setting.



My parents started to have this issue past weekend and asked me to look into it.

I did not have any issue until today using Firefox.

However, when I logged in using Chrome which was my parents' go-to web browser, I experienced the same thing as my parents did.


I tried the normal mode as well as secret mode. Both had the same issue.

Later on, same thing happened in the Firefox - both in normal and private mode - too.

Now I am not sure if it is safe to send the donation online.


Is this just a technical breach, or a virus?

Did you check the language (mine is set to Worldwide - English) in the upper right of the page just above where it says My Account and Ward? Sometimes there is something that happens in the Church servers where there is some random change to the language. If your setting is normally Worldwide - English then change it to something else and change it back. Unfortunately there is no language setting in the URL for the Donations page that sometimes gets changed to another language.

If the site language is still showing Worldwide - English another thing to try is to do a hard refresh of the browser page. A hard refresh refers to the process of clearing the browser cache on a specific page in order to make it load the most recent version instead of the cached version of the page. A hard refresh usually does the trick, but in some instances, it might require the deletion of all browser cache.

In the Chrome and Firefox browsers of a Windows machine a hard refresh is done by one of the following methods:
  1. Hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key.
  2. Hold the ⇧ Shift key and click the Reload button on the navigation toolbar.
  3. Hold down the Shift key and Ctrl key, and then press the R key.

It is not a breach or a virus. This is a known issue that rears its ugly head from time to time on different churchofjesuschrist.org pages for some unknown reason.

You can send feedback to report this issue using he feedback link at the bottom of the page. Unfortunately for me when I have done this I get the standard response to clear the browser cache just as I have explained above.
