I see that Zoom can set up a recurring meeting. This would be great for Sunday School because we would not have to send out new meeting URLs every Sunday, but.. do we open ourselves up for "meeting crashers"? if we use a static URL? i.e. is the privacy of the meeting less secure?
Also we are considering having the Sunday School Presidency the "Admin" of these recurring zoom meetings -and that we'd change the "co host" to the member that will be teaching that week. Does that work in practice? Does the "co host" need their own zoom account? or can we just ad hoc assign it a the start of class each Sunday?
Thanks

Re: Recurring Zoom Meetings and Co Hosts for Sunday School
I have a paid Zoom account so I just make the teacher a co-host as soon as they sign on. This way they can screen share or video share if they would like. We are using a reoccurring meeting link so far as we have had no issues with anyone crashing the meeting. We do not mass email or text this link out to help keep tight control over who gets the link.

I don't see any guidance on that for 2nd hour meetings. However, I'd expect recording to have some negative impact on class participation.arlissuppo wrote:Can the 2nd hour meetings using zoom be recorded for later viewing

Re: Recurring Zoom Meetings and Co Hosts for Sunday School
Our Area Presidency sent out guidelines specific to our Area, and both sacrament meeting broadcasts as well as second-hour broadcasts, were specifically required to be live and not recorded or posted to the internet. Of course your mileage may vary, but as I expect these Area guidelines are reviewed by higher-ups, it may also be a common instruction for other Areas. So I'd check with a Bishop / Stake President to see if they have received similar guidance that hasn't made it downstream yet.

Kia ora all, Yes just like Brian we have received instruction not to record meetings, we have been using zoom for high council meetings for over two years now because of the geographical length of our Stake. We also zoomed our stake conference a couple of weeks ago.
