Calendar Events off by an hour
I have been trying to schedule stake events for next year. Our stake is in the Los Angeles time zone. I have both the event I'm trying to schedule and the overall calendar set on that time zone. Whenever I schedule an event, it makes it an hour earlier. Is the calendar not adjusting for daylight savings or something? How do I fix this?

Or something. Are you in that time zone? Did the computer you are using to enter the event make the change to standard time successfully?gregnmeg wrote:Whenever I schedule an event, it makes it an hour earlier. Is the calendar not adjusting for daylight savings or something?
Although I believe it should not matter, I think that is the most likely cause of the problem. The website may be adjusting erroneously based on the time running in the computer itself.

I believe it's based on the Time Zone reported by the computer.lajackson wrote:The website may be adjusting erroneously based on the time running in the computer itself.
You might want to visit https://webbrowsertools.com/timezone/ and see what's reported by your browser.
Then again, are these events on or after Sunday, March 14? It might be trying to compensate for DST.

I clicked that link and it said "Sun Nov 01 2020 18:11:44 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time)" which matched my computer time of 6:11pm. I am in that time zone currently. Specifically, in Oregon.

Ok, but are the events you're trying to schedule going to be in PDT?

Yes all events are in PDT. They list the time correctly but where they are showing on the weekly calendar image is off by an hour.

Long shot idea: Could it be that the PDT-to-PST change from DST occurred during the interval between when the meeting was entered and when the meeting was to happen? It's conceivable that there could be a bug when the effective time delta from UTC differs.

The calendar has long had issues of dealing with Daylight Savings. I suspect the events are scheduled correctly, but they're "daylight" events being viewed on a "standard" calendar. They'll all fix themselves once you enter daylight again.
