I’m hoping that someone from the Church Tech team can see this and get it escalated appropriately for resolution.
When using the Meetinghouse Webcast system, once our sacrament meeting broadcast has concluded, I click “End event” button on the Meetinghouse Webcast page for the event. So far, so good.
BUT, the next dialog box and prompts then ask me to confirm whether I want to “Delete” the event, rather than “End” it.
This seems to be a case where perhaps a bit of user interface code was reused but someone forgot to change the wording that the user sees. It actually does just end the event (and it doesn’t get deleted). But nevertheless, it certainly made me abandon my first attempt, go back and re-press the “End Event” button just to make sure I hadn’t accidentally done something different. At that point, on seeing the same “Delete” confirmation, I just took a deep breath and pressed the “Delete” button (the only way to move forward rather than cancelling). Sure enough, my meeting was ended, and not deleted.
Please fix this so that it correctly explains to the user what will happen, with the appropriate and expected response of ending the event.

Actually, it does delete it. I know this from before when it used to keep the recording. Answering yes to that prompt will kill the recording.
But I agree that it's odd that you can't just end it.

So then what is the right thing to do? The initial click is on an "End event" button, which to me should do just what it says, i.e. end the event. If you then want to delete the recording, then there should be a separate button on the Event Manager page that does that. The two functions should not be inter-mixed!
I cannot even begin to imagine what this is like for someone who is not a native English speaker!
Please escalate this with the Meetinghouse Webcast developers so that it is 100% clear to all users what will (and won't !) happen.

Since this is a user-to-user discussion forum and not the help or developer department, any escalation will happen because you or someone else sends feedback through the web page. The suggestion then will be reviewed, and if the developers receive instruction from the decision makers responsible for the page, the suggestion will be incorporated.armistej wrote:Please escalate this with the Meetinghouse Webcast developers so that it is 100% clear to all users what will (and won't !) happen.
