Stake Center Cameras

Post by TJHill »

Hey All,
We are currently in the market for a new budget friendly camera to mount at our stake center. We are currently using a handheld camera on a tripod and many times get people walking in front of the camera.

1. Budget Friendly
2. Hoping for a PTZ(function not necessarily the brand) camera with presets that can easily be controlled via App or joystick.
3. Easy connectivity either through Teradek OR recently began trying OBS broadcast software.

What are you using? This may help us get a better idea of our options!

Thank you,
Travis

I would suggest first working with your FM group to see if a camera can be budgeted in. If so, they will install it, provide the necessary power, run the signal cable(s) (most likely SDI) back to the satellite cabinet, provide a way to control the PTZ functions, and convert the video to HDMI for use with either the Teradek or a PC/Mac with video capture capability running OBS. They will also maintain it if something isn't working correctly, which is a BIG plus for using them.
So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.
