LCR Mailing Labels for Unassigned Ministering Assignments

Post by jmine83 »

I sent this via the LCR feedback form, but just in case and to further ensure this reaches an LCR developer, here is my request:

Requesting priority feature update to add Mailing Labels print support to the Ministering Assignments report section.

The reason this feature update is needed is to fulfill the "Move Records Out" policy and principles that requires ward leaders to "contact the occupants at the member’s last known address and ask them if they have a forwarding address." (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/hel ... t?lang=eng)

The individuals and households that fall under this demographic are unassigned ministering assignments. Thus allowing mailing label sheets to be automatically generated for all individuals or households on the unassigned ministering assignments list. Also, within the Ministering Assignments section and the Households tab therein, with the "Not Assigned" filter applied, it is observed that the generated list of households is using incorrect logic. The logic should be revised so that when the "Not Assigned" filter is applied within the Households tab, the only entries on this list that appear are those whose "Ministering Brothers" AND "Ministering Sisters" values are both empty. Currently the logic appears to be using an OR statement which is not correct.

Nothing posted here can be guaranteed to get to to the programmers. Your LCR feedback should be passed to those who direct their priorities for consideration. Don't be surprised if your suggestion is not acted upon immediately - we don't know what priorities are already in queue and I think there are not very many "developers" - it may not even be plural, LOL.

I suppose you could use mailing labels to attempt to contact people at the last known address, but in my experience those letters are often tossed in the trash unopened (especially if the current resident is not a member of the church). I have seen the most success when missionaries assigned to the unit visit the home in person and speak with the current residents. Missionaries love an excuse to meet people so they have always been happy to fulfil those requests.
