Have you tried any other day other than Sunday? This is the time the servers get overloaded and updates will fail.

I'm experiencing the same thing and can reproduce this behavior/error message at will. This is also happening to other family members.

Day of the week doesn't seem to matter, nor is it limited to the LDS Tools app. If you open a browser and go to churchofjesuschrist.org and try to access Ward Directory and Map, I cannot see the households in the browser (the application just hangs/spins).

There is a problem with the database connector because various clients (i.e. mobile app/laptop browser) are experiencing the same thing. This has been going on for AT LEAST 2-4 weeks now and nothing has been done to fix it.

If you are new to LDS Tools, this means that you CANNOT USE the app at all because you don't have a prior data download to display or work from. Seems odd to me that church tech support hasn't addressed this problem, ESPECIALLY in the midst of COVID and most everyone being remote. For all of the emergency preparedness focus in the church, I find it stunning that we find ourselves in this situation in 2021.

It does sound like a data issue. Check your Church Account by going to account.churchofjesuschrist.org. Make sure your Membership Record Number (MRN)is on the account.

If it is, contact your ward clerk. Have him verify your membership records are in the ward. If they are, have him call support (Global Help Desk) and open a trouble ticket.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Member tools does not update automatically nor when I try to manually update it. My last update was January 6th 2021. My wife can update her directory on her cell phone, but I can't on mine. Any suggestions on what I can try? Thank you

What operating system version of Member Tools are you using? Also, what device and operating system version do you have? All of this may help in tracking down the problem and so we can direct you to the appropriate sub-forum for the operating system (Android Member Tools or iPhone/iPad Member Tools).
