Recording Attendance - Visitors?

Post by AndrewTree »

On the LCR Class & Quorum Attendance report you can record attendance for each member, however, how do we record visitors that are in attendance? Are they just not recorded?

Thanks,
Andrew

You would need to keep a separate record. As far as official attendance records are concerned, visitors have never been counted, except for sacrament meeting.

I know that printed class rolls only include member names, but often wards would have visitors/investigators manually add their names. And it may be that when reporting attendance numbers to the clerk, these additional people were included. So for anyone used to this practice, not having a place to add visitors is a change from how they've been doing things, since they wanted to be able to include them in the attendance numbers. I know if somebody asked me a couple years ago if visitors should be included in attendance reports, I would likely have said "sure"...

If the attendance is for quarterly reporting purposes then nonmembers and out of unit members should not be included - except for the Sacrament meeting attendance.
