We have been called as the Ward Temple and Family History Leaders. We would like to use LDS Tools (Member Tools) to send out monthly emails to all ward members. How do we accomplish this?
Also, how do we attach a PDF to the outgoing email?
Thank you,
Bruce and Marilee Weston

Re: Email send out to all ward members
It is not in Member Tools. You access the Send a Message feature in LCR. Log in to Leader and Clerk Resources and select the Applications tab to see it.
This link should take you there after it routes you through the login page: https://lcr.churchofjesuschrist.org/messaging?lang=eng
Once in the tool, you can drag an attachment to the proper place on the form, or click a link to find the attachment on your computer. It should be obvious when you see the tool. Be advised that this tool was not designed for rich formatting such as in a newsletter. It only handles very basic formatting only. You will likely have better luck using very little, if any, formatting in the message body and use your attachment to provide a newsletter-type experience.
If you cannot access it, speak with your ward or branch clerk - you must be in a standard calling that grants access and you should wait about 24 hrs after the calling assignment for access to work through the church systems.

Re: Email send out to all ward members
I have my doubts if "Ward Temple and Family History Leader" has access.
I also wonder how well a monthly newsletter to everyone would be received. Some may consider it spam.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Re: Email send out to all ward members
The Ward Temple and Family History Leader does have access to the send a message tool - I have that calling and it is also listed in the Access table. I agree with the point about a monthly newsletter. Pushing something without an opt-out option can create hard feelings and the send a message tool does not have an opt-out feature (unless leaders are willing to keep a list and manually remove folks before sending each message).russellhltn wrote: Mon Sep 27, 2021 11:35 amI have my doubts if "Ward Temple and Family History Leader" has access.
