I put together the attached Excel checklist to make it easy to inventory the member cleaning closet each month and then order what is needed. This list is for a building used by 3 wards based on recommendations from our FM group. It can be easily adjusted for your needs.
I'm putting it out here to anyone who may find it useful. I print a blank copy and do a physical inventory each month (write the current quantities into the "Actual" column). Then I go home and enter the numbers into the spreadsheet - the text shows red for anything that I need to order, along with the quantity I need to order. I put the Staples PNs there so I can just search for them when filling my order. There are spaces to put your account information at the top so you can copy/paste into the Staples site when logging in.
Personally, this makes the inventory and order process simple and quick for me. Hope this helps someone. Feel free to use it and share it.

Re: Cleaning Supplies checklist
That looks great, just keep in mind that each FM group equips the buildings with different style toilet paper, paper towel, and handsoap dispensers, along with different style of vacuums (Some get the Windsor Versamatic uprights while others may get the Windsor Sensor model, or a combination of both, and the versamatic takes a different style of bag vs the Sensor. (don't confuse versamatic with versamatic plus. Versamatic plus uses the same type as the Sensor) Some buildings have a NSS Pacer 30 wide area vacuum but more have the Windsor/Karchar Wave or NUWave or even the newest model, so the bags will be different. Always verify the model of the vacuums you get bags for before you order them.
Another helpful tip is to encourage your ward building rep to check the vacuum bags to make sure they are replaced when half full, and to check the status of the vacuum brush. If it needs a new brush, some brushes can be found on staples, but this might be something you open a FIR for and have the FM Group assign repair out for it. I see a LOT of vacuums that have worn out brushes and then the members complain that the vacuums are not working right but no one bothered to check the brushes.

Re: Cleaning Supplies checklist
My list was based on recommendations from our FM group for our building and also based on our the brands/types of our current supplies. As with everything (and as I stated), each unit may need to adjust for local conditions and situations (and quantities if they don't have 3 units using their building). We recently had a small vacuum with a broken power switch and I wasn't sure if I should try to repair myself or submit a FIR ticket. I submitted the ticket and waited for their response. It took them about 2 months to get to it, but they were able to repair the power switch to get the vacuum functional again.
If my tool helps, others are most welcome to modify it for their needs and use it. If not, then no harm, no offense.

We had two vacuums that weren't working well during our building cleaning last week. We discovered that they both had sacrament cups lodged in the tube near the brush (for who knows how long). Luckily, once we found the problem we were able to fix it pretty easily, without needing to contact facilities management.davesudweeks wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 8:56 pm We recently had a small vacuum with a broken power switch and I wasn't sure if I should try to repair myself or submit a FIR ticket. Thanks for providing your list!

Re: Cleaning Supplies checklist
I clean in a temple. Can you please tell me if we are no long allowed to use Vinegar? It is an amazing product to clean all the drinking fountains and stainless steel.
I understand a little why we no long can use bleach products. Not a good idea to remove from showers since it helps to keep mold away. Having a very hard time to hear that now we can no longer use the vinegar in the temple.
Can you please help me understand why that product was removed from the cleaning.
Thank you
Debbie

Debbie, hopefully you're aware that the Tech Forum members, at least for the most part, are "regular members" like yourself. There may happen to be Forum members with connections to the Temple who have heard details about the change you describe, and might be able to share more information. Can you please help me understand why that product was removed from the cleaning.
However, it's unlikely that anybody in an "official" position who was involved in the decision-making process, is going to see your post and then reply. It might occur, but just want to make sure you understand that this Forum isn't part of the official Church support system, so questions like yours can often go unanswered if no Forum members have any insights.

Re: Cleaning Supplies checklist
While I have no insight on why it was removed, a quick web search of "downside of using Vinegar for cleaning" shows some possible reasons.

Re: Cleaning Supplies checklist
Hi,
Thanks for sharing this. Do you know if the church has a checklist of what needs to be cleaned and how to clean it? I have seen many different versions over the years and wonder if there is a standard.
Thanks for any info!

Re: Cleaning Supplies checklist
I don't think there would be a worldwide one as brand/product availability would be different in different locations.

This is what the church provides as far as a checklist goes.
