Hi all,
I am a financial clerk at my ward. Today, I was approached by a member that stated that his first donation for 2021 was entered in late, that it was supposed to be entered at the end of 2020 instead. They are asking if I am able to make this adjustment as they included this first donation in their 2020 tax filing . I was able to find how to adjust names, amounts, etc., but I can not find how to adjust dates for donations. Is it even possible in LCR?
To sum it up:
How do I move a donation from 2021 to 2020 and is it possible through LCR? Or would I have to call the HQ for that?

Given that it's now 2022, I think you're going to have to call.

One thing to consider - I'm assuming the donation was either postmarked in 2020 or handed to a member of the bishopric in 2020. The date on the donation slip or on the check doesn't matter. What matters is when the donation was postmarked or physically handed to the representative of the church authorized to receive donations.
If one of the above two scenarios are not applicable, I don't think you can legally change the date of the donation to a prior year.
