Mapping Location
Just curios, what's the purpose of mapping members' addresses in the Ward Directory and Map webpage?

Re: Mapping Location
Presumably so leaders and ministers can see where members live. Leaders may need that for planning purposes.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Re: Mapping Location
There was one time when the missionaries told me that they could not find a member's home. They were using the map location (which was wrong), rather than using the street address.
In another case, a sister's street address was on South 26th Ave Cir, and another home with the same number was on South 26th Ave, about 200 feet away. So of course, the mapping location again pointed to the wrong house. She was very familiar with her packages being delivered to the other house.
For those folks who live on an acreage, you would need to decide whether to set the mapping location on the house, or on the entry of their very long driveway or access road.

Re: Mapping Location
For a ward in Utah with a radius of a couple of city blocks, perhaps not much. For others of us with wards/branches spanning multiple cities, school districts, and perhaps even counties, it is invaluable to be able to visually understand the composition. Groupings of members, individual locations relative to others, and lots of other useful reasons.
And in places where street numbering isn't exact, you need to have a way to locate. We recently moved a member record to another country, and the member told us his part of the neighborhood had no addresses. So he gave us visual indications for where he lived, which we passed on to the local leaders so they could then try and place his home on the map.

You can find this yourself by simply going to the meetinghouse locator, and typing in "Calamba Laguna"
