Trying to add a custom calling

Post by brianlarson88 »

I'm getting this message when trying to add a custom calling: Sorry, something went wrong loading the requested data. Try refreshing the page, or try again later.
I've been trying for a few weeks and same message. Another ward is having the same issue.

Have you tried clearing browser cache and deleting relevant cookies? There's a known issue where some cookies from Church domains built up and can cause some very strange symptoms. If that doesn't help, from the ward level, the next place to ask for help is the stake clerk.

Which organization were you trying to add it in? Some don't allow custom callings (I would hope that LCR blocks trying to add them, but I haven't checked that).

At the stake level, I've tried adding it under activities, music, additional callings , technology, all with the same result. I've tried using different computers and different browsers. Does it work for you?

I'm just adding I'm having the same problem in our ward. I'm trying to add a custom calling under Additional Callings and am getting the same error. Hopefully, they can resolve the issue soon. Is there somewhere else to report this issue? I sent a message using the website feedback form but I don't know if that will go to the right place.

Website feedback is the official way to get your issue to those who can direct the programmers' activities (they likely will not see posts in this community self-help forum). You should not expect an individualized response, though. The other thing you can do is ask your stake president to bring it up in his coordinating council. However, since custom callings grant no special rights above regular members in any church systems, lack of entering them won't prevent those called from performing in whatever manner the bishop directs for the calling.

Thanks for the reply. I'll let the bishop know and see if he would like me to take any additional steps.

I have experienced the same problem, going back nearly a month now.

It happens with different custom callings, it happens on different computers, it even happens with different clerks (I'm an assistant Stake Clerk, the Stake Clerk gets the same result, ""Sorry, something went wrong loading the requested data. Try refreshing the page, or try again later.")

One of the callings we can't create is one the Utah area leaders asked us to create (Stake Education Specialist).

I have provided website feedback, although the "send feedback" link is more of a "what is your overall experience with LDS.org" than a direct bug reporting method.

Unable to add some callings, custom & standard?

Post by MurdockM »

Bump

Hello, Ward Clerk here,

I’ve also recently been unable to record in LCR people called to some callings.
Specifically;

1) The Stake asked Wards to call a History Specialist. The ward calling in LCR is un-starred and so it is a Standard Calling? However, after trying everything I, the Stake Clerk, and the Regional History specialists tell me to try I still get the red letter “Sorry, Something went wrong with loading the requested data. Try refreshing the page, or try again later. “ Error message. ("History Specialist" is listed as a 'hidden calling' whatever that means.)

2 This ward has called a Building Representative Associate and Ward Greeter. However I can’t create nor add anyone to those custom callings. We already have one Ward Greater listed so it must be possible. Each time I get the same red letter error message as above; “Sorry, Something went wrong ...” (Even when trying to add a member who has no other callings.)

What am I doing wrong?!!

I previously posted part of the above under the topic "Changes to Ward History, "History" standard calling"
