We had a someone move into the ward that is finalizing their divorce. They would prefer to go by a different last name, but I believe as a ward clerk I can only edit the household name and preferred name. In order to change the last name, it would have to be legally changed through the finalization of the divorce correct?
Just wanted to see if anyone else has come across this and if this is the correct way to go about it. Thank you in advance for your help.

That would be how I'd read Handbook 33.6.1.
I'd question the editing of the household name to something that doesn't match the legal names in any way.
