I'm the ward clerk. Our ward is just starting to integrate the Finding Lost Members report (we're outside of Utah).
Our full time missionaries say they can't see the report, which doesn't make sense to me.
I understand that finding lost members is the role of the EQ and RS, and that the ward mission leader has access to the report. But why not give the missionaries access?
I'm wondering if there is a way for them to view this on their devices or if I'm misunderstanding its purpose. Thanks for your time.

Re: Finding Lost Members report visible to full-time missionaries?
I think the answer is "missionaries may assist." (33.6.4, emphasis added) If they're assisting, it reasonable to hand them a sheet with the one the ward is needing help with instead of giving them the list and saying "go for it".
The primary assigned to this task is "Elders quorum and Relief Society leaders review this report regularly and use available resources to locate these members."

Missionaries normally don't have access to the reports in LCR, the exception being those called to serve in branch leadership. They have the directory, covenant path progress report, and that's about it. So to give them access you'll have to print it (either to paper or pdf to email) and get it to them.

True. I think they have access to Tools if they're assigned to the ward by the mission. I think most else comes from missionary portals/apps.Cmanrogers wrote: Fri Sep 01, 2023 7:23 pm Missionaries normally don't have access to the reports in LCR,

Yeah they have access to tools, but the only leader tool they can use is moving household dots on the map.russellhltn wrote: Fri Sep 01, 2023 7:32 pm True. I think they have access to Tools if they're assigned to the ward by the mission. I think most else comes from missionary portals/apps.

Another option is for the full-time missionaries to send this query up their leadership chain. If the Mission President intends for his full-time missionaries to work with local leaders to help find lost members, he should have an idea of how he envisions that working. And in his monthly coordination meetings with each Stake President, they can discuss how to best organize those efforts. Then the Stake President could let local wards know of those plans. Our full time missionaries say they can't see the report, which doesn't make sense to me.
And if the Mission President feels access to the Finding Lost Members report is important for his missionaries, he can send this request up to his immediate leader for consideration.

A third option (up front apology: this may frustrate those who insist on doing "all things digital" these days), is to have them obtain approval from their Mission President to assist in the ward's effort to find lost members and then print the information for them to work on. You don't have to wait for access to a digital report to be granted to them (and that could take months or longer to happen, even if approved).
