logging on with i phone vs desk top

my user name and password work great on my desk top. But when I try to get on with my i-phone, it says that either my password or my user name are wrong. But the username and password work great with my desk top. Do you know how I can get it to work on my iphone? I already tried turning off my i phone and turning it back on.
