For iPhones try uninstalling the app, fully powering off the phone, waiting 60 seconds, powering the phone back on, and reinstalling the app.
For Android phones try clearing the app's cache and user data, then signing back into the app. If this doesn't work try uninstalling, fully powering the phone off, then on again, and reinstalling the app.
If none of this works use a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or ...), navigating to The Church's website, and logging in to LCR (Leader and Clerk Resources) to review information and accomplish tasks. LCR looks and functions somewhat different than the Tools app, but is much more stable and reliable than the app.

Note that Leader and Clerk Resources is only available to ward and stake leaders, unlike Member Tools.jpjones~ogr wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 3:41 pm If none of this works use a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or ...), navigating to The Church's website, and logging in to LCR (Leader and Clerk Resources) to review information and accomplish tasks. Sorry. Strike two for me today.
Maybe the Church website's My Home pages will have something useful. A speed scan of features left me wondering.
My experiences with the Tools app have been unusually problematic since early 2023. A new version of the app was announced, and it may be less troublesome initially or in time, when it's released.

For awareness, the Tech Forum is primarily user-to-user discussion, and also self-help. Almost nobody here in the Forum works for the Church, we're all regular church members like yourself, some with leadership callings and others without.i thought you like to know. I show are calling. That why i am let you know what going on with are phone.
A good first step for a member like yourself, would be to ask your ward clerk to sit with you and review your situation (or if your ward has a "tech specialist", he/she would be perfect for this). As you can imagine, having somebody physically sitting with you, and able to interactively see what your experience is, can be a great help.

Having weird issues with the Android app after a recent update. it is now not letting me in at all i put my user name and PW in but when it goes for dual auth it wants to text a number I have not had in years. also will not auth with an embedded security key. weird issue I know. Done all the steps to troubleshoot clearing cache etc and even uninstalling and reinstalling after reboot. still not working.

You may want to go to account.churchofjesuschrist.org and make sure "Account Mobile Phone" is correct. That's different than what's in the directory.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Learned something new. Only have one phone number, but it would be fun seeing which phone number fields will other take values.
Account Mobile Phone is under Personal / Contact Information. There's also a Account / Two Step Verification / Enrolled Methods list that might hold something.
Age is making it harder to deal with ongoing feature additions, as well as easier to forget them.

When receiving telephone calls, sometimes the caller ID name is wrong displaying a name from another ward in the stake. This occurs for only few members. After uninstalling member tools, the correct caller ID name is displayed. After re-installing member tools, for a short period of time the caller ID name is correct, but eventually later the caller ID name for the individual calling dispays the wrong name. Several members in the ward have indicated they have seen this erroneous caller ID name as well. Anybody know how to rectify this problem?

Re: member tools
Since Caller ID in Member Tools isn't working for you, I'd disable that feature in the Member Tools app.
