Hi all,
New assistant ward clerk: finance here. I've come into the calling in a training void- the previous ward clerk and financial clerk have moved out suddenly and the bishop has been serving for a month longer than I have.
When it comes to producing the monthly statement for Bishops review, is there a way to generate a statement for budget reimbursement items? I have found the donation statement and the fast offering expense statement, but at a recent ward audit, the auditor was looking for a budget item statement. I can't find it in LCR anywhere.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks

Re: Statement of Budget reimbursement
There is only one monthly financial statement which the Bishop (and you) need to review. It does have 3 sections but they are all part of the same document and will all print at the same time. The thee sections are the Donation Summary, the Balance Summary and the Fast Offering Assistance section. There is no budget item statement. The old financial report did list all expenses but the current statement does not.
However, if possible it is better if you and the Bishop review the statement online and submit your review there. If you do that then the auditor doesn't need to look at anything because the system will verify it and mark the audit questions automatically. In either case the finance statement is found by going to Finance > Reports > Finance Statements.

Re: Statement of Budget reimbursement
As mentioned, budget reimbursements aren't tracked in the monthly financial statements. The Bishop at any time can look online at the expense summary (LCRF => Expenses => Expenses Summary), and can choose custom dates if desired.
I actually think that's a very helpful thing for Bishops to do on a "regular" basis, to keep an eye on all the various expenses he's ultimately responsible for. But when the Bishop clicks through the Financial Statement, all that is required is for him to "agree that the monthly balances and related expenses appear accurate", he's not required at that point to do an expense-by-expense verification.
