HEllo,
I have been trying to add a payee to help pay an expense for a member, but for 2 days, every time I try and add the payee. I get the "It looks like something went wrong which prevented the page you requested from displaying. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused!" response. Is there a system wide error going on? I have tried on 3 different computers to try enter this so I can cut a check. I have never had this error happen for this long

Re: Error trying to add a payee
What you are experiencing is not system wide and may be a temporary issue. I just completed a test adding a new payee from within an Enter Expense payment process as well from the Participants menu and both were successful.
How are you trying to add the new payee? If you are trying to process an expense payment and add it during that process then try adding the payee instead from the Participants menu.
If you are still experiencing the problem then please describe the process you use step by step to enter the new payee until you get the error message.

I'd also suggest trying incognito/private mode. Church web pages suffer from cookie buildup that can cause strange problems like that.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Re: Error trying to add a payee
I have had this same exact problem for several months now, so thought I'd share how I have been able to work around it.
How to produce the error:
Click "Add Payee" on the dropdown box when searching for Payee while entering an expense. Enter all the relevant info (name, phone, address, etc) for the nonmember payee. Click "Add Payee" button at the bottom. Error occurs.
Solution/workaround that I use:
Click on the "Participants" top-level tab, then "(+) Add Participant" at the top of the list of participants. Enter name and phone number, then click "Add Participant" button at the bottom. Note - you can't at first add the address in this way, but it does save the participant in the system so you can then click on them from the list of participants, click edit, and add the address that way. This helps for example when printing a check to a business.

Re: Error trying to add a payee
I have also discovered that adding a non-member payee with any 800 number will be rejected by the system! Solution: don't add the 800 number, only use the non-800 number.

Re: Error trying to add a payee
Tuggerah Lakes Ward Australia - Today I tried to add a new Payee 4 times with same result. Same message as above. I complete all details required to add new payee including all the others info on the page to submit for review. As I am not the only person having this issue then it must be a system error. Will try clearing cookies and see if that helps.jdlessley wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 3:14 pm What you are experiencing is not system wide and may be a temporary issue.
