Very Slow - esp. when annotating

The Windows app (both standard as well as beta) have become extremely slow. It makes it very difficult to use--especially when highlighting or otherwise making annotations. There is a significant lag, and whenever I try to highlight or annotate, everything on the screen shifts and freezes for a period of time before I can proceed.

I don't know how it changed. But it seems like the Windows app was much better about a year ago (before the current toolbar menu view, which it has now). Now it is nearly unusable. Is this only happening for me, or are others having this same experience?

Is there a way to revert back to an earlier version?
