How to sustain a decision in ward council?

Post by tshegokau »

We know that decisions are made in ward council when the bishop is present. How does a decision get sustained do members of the council raise the hands to the square or does the bishop just say this is the decision of the council?

I'd suggest reviewing section 4.4 of the General Handbook, especially 4.4.3. There is no "sustaining" mentioned regarding council decisions. Rather, the leader is the one who makes the decision, informed by the discussion, and confirmed by the Spirit. All of section 4.4 gives good context and details regarding specific aspects of councils -- such as council member preparation, council discussions, council decisions, and principles about unity.
