It's become necessary to shorten the server time-out down to 6 minutes. That means if you spend more than 6 minutes from the last page load to research and compose your reply, you'll time out and likely lose your post.

I trick I learned years ago, use the "Preview" button. You won't lose anything, but you'll reset the 6 minute timer.

Hopefully things change and we can lengthen the timer again.
