What to do with original forms after uploading

Post by donatjr »

After a form, such as for a baptism & confirmation, is completed, the information entered into LCR, and the form uploaded, what should be done with the paper copy of the form? Is it kept somewhere or should it be shredded?

The Help Center article Retention of Records provides some guidance. For the example you gave, the baptism form should be retained in a secure location, such as a locked file cabinet, for one year and then destroyed. Other uploaded documents such as a baby blessing form can be destroyed when no longer needed. In other words, after it is uploaded the form can be destroyed if it is no longer needed.

Thanks for the help! I’ll read through the Retention of Records article, and I’ve got it bookmarked.
