There are several Bishops that would like to have a printer in their office.
Is that allowed?
Who would purchase it?

Re: Printer for Bishops office
Good question.
Handbook 34.6.2.2 - Appropriate Use of Budget
Handbook 34.6.2.2 - Appropriate Use of Budget
On the Printers and Copiers Overview page:Expenses for building construction, maintenance, telephones, utilities, computers, and priesthood leader travel are paid from general Church funds according to current guidelines.
Last I heard, FM wasn't buying printers for the bishop's offices. But you can ask yours to see what they say.FMG TASKS:
- Purchase the right sizes of printers, multifunction printers, and copiers for meetinghouses
- Set up printers or copiers for members to use
- Set up the clerk’s printer
- Replace printers and copiers as needed
COMMON ERRORS:
- Warranties fall under the jurisdiction of the FMG, not individual units. Units are not permitted to purchase warranties for printers or copiers.
- Members are not authorized to purchase printers and copiers for their own buildings.

Re: Printer for Bishops office
You may find members that assert that they've seen printers in Bishops offices. A common reason is when the Bishop just goes ahead and brings in a personal printer for his own use, without going through the FM Group. Sometimes this will be because he doesn't understand the FM Group's responsibility for the building (it doesn't belong to the ward), other times it's intentional so he can avoid getting an official "no" answer. I'm not advocating that, but just pointing out that basing decisions around what others are doing may not always point in the right direction. Going through the FM Group is definitely the right approach, even when it leads to an undesired outcome.
