Budget categories available to adjust donation

I had a member donate to General Offerings online when they intended to donate to a budget category. When I go in to adjust the donation only some of the established budget categories are available. Are there settings that need to be changed to allow other budget categories to show on the adjust donation budget field drop down?

You cannot donate to budget on-line for any purpose. It can only be done with a manual tithing slip, and even then the ability to donate is very limited, such as paying for a youth camp for a child. Does your ward or branch have a budget category for a youth camp and if so, was that the member's intention? You may have to contact your stake financial clerk for help on this if that is the case.

Donations to budget are not listed on the member's official year end statement as they are not tax deductible, at least not in the United States.

I guess i used "donate" but meant "pay". My main question is why are some budget accounts available but not others? Even with a paper slip I cannot put the money to the correct budget account.

Just a guess, but are the available ones the default top-level categories?

the available ones are a combination of top-level and subcategory items. Not all top-level are shown but all active subcategories of showing top-level are included. I added a screenshot file. for this particular case I would Like Budget: Primary available to select, but there are more top-level categories missing besides just Primary.

I only see those top level categories in our ward under payments to budget. Apparently Primary was not included by design. By policy, I don't believe any Primary activities can or should be funded by parents.

PS I see under Young Women the camp and birthday sub-categories are labeled YM not YW, maybe typos?

While that's true, another propose of budget "donations" it to return the remainder of an advance. I don't see Primary as being immune to that.

To return a budget advance to Primary I suppose one would have to put it in Administration and then do a category transfer to Primary.
