In planning use of sacred funds, it would be really helpful if the Budget Details page for each expense would include the note submitted by the church workers as to what the money was spent on.

For example,
I noticed that when I enter a request for reimbursement, I'm asked what the expense is for. So I dutifully enter "streamers for activity" and assume that that information is being kept and accessible somewhere for my leaders. If that's not the intent, then why collect that information at all?

But in the LCR budget details for Primary, my detail that the expense was for streamers is missing or lost. Where does it go? More importantly, can it be preserved and made visible in LCR to leaders when they look at their organizational expense report?

The current categories in the Budget Details page are Date, Reference #, Category, Description, Type, and Amount. The description category usually only lists the Payee. The Type category usually only lists "expense" It would be much more useful to me as a Primary leader to know what the expense was for, exactly. Was it for CTR rings or was it for paper plates? I currently have no way of knowing. So when I plan my budget for next year, there just isn't enough detail being kept available to me to support me in planning the use of sacred funds.

Would it be possible to add a catetogory for "Item" that then displays the note entered by the person who submitted the request?

The Budget Details page is really a summary of transactions for a ward budget category. In this case you are viewing the Primary category of the ward budget which shows the details, or list of transactions, for that ward category. To get the details of an individual transaction displayed on the Primary Budget Details page, click on the reference # hyperlink for that transaction. Then the full details for the transaction will appear in another page. That is where you will see the Purpose for that transaction.

I agree this would be a great enhancement. Right now the “Description” field usually shows only the payee because the note you enter on the reimbursement form doesn’t flow through to the LCR Budget Details view — it’s stored on the reimbursement record in Finance but isn’t surfaced in the leaders’ report.

It would be helpful if that note (like “streamers for activity”) appeared as an “Item/Notes” column in Budget Details so leaders can see what each expense actually covered.

Best next step is to submit it through the Feedback link in LCR so it’s logged as a feature request for the Finance team.

Provide feedback at the bottom of the page in lcrffe - The church will log a ticket for you, and you may or may not get a nice message from a service missionary saying they'll forward it on to the team.
