Aaronic Priesthood Ministering assignments

As a new Elders Quorum President reviewing Ministering Assignments, I've noticed that there are no Aaronic Priesthood companions listed, nor can I find a way to add them. How do you add Aaronic Priesthood companions with Elders for Ministering Assignments?

When I try to add a Young Man to a companionship, his name does not appear in the list of members. I type in his name and hit "Save", but his name is not added to the companionship.

How do you add Aaronic Priesthood companions with Elders for Ministering Assignments?

Teachers and Priests can be added to an Elders Quorum companionship either as the second companion or as a third companion. They cannot be added to a husband and wife companionship. Also note an Elder companion must be the first companion. To add a Teacher or Priest as a second or third companion:
1. Click the action menu icon (ellipsis) on the right side of the page for the companionship.
2. Select or click Edit.
3. Select the "Search Members" text box and select the appropriate list ("All" or "Unassigned"). The list will auto- populate with the available Elders, Teachers, and Priests based on the list selected. If the "Unassigned" list is selected and the name does not appear when scrolling through or the last name is typed in but does not appear with the full name, age, and priesthood office then that person has been assigned to a companionship.

When I try to add a Young Man to a companionship his name does not appear in the list of members.

That is normal if the "Unassigned" list was selected in the "Search Members" drop-down list box and the young man is already assigned to a companionship. If he does not appear in the "All" list then either the young man is a Deacon, not ordained, or something is amiss with his membership record. I am not certain whether there is a restriction on how many companionships to which a Teacher/Priest can be assigned. If one companionship is the limit and he is already assigned then his name may not appear on the "All" list either. I have not tried to add a Teacher or a Priest to more than one companionship.

I type in his name and hit "Save", but his name is not added to the companionship.

The name must be typed with the last name first. A list of members that match the typed characters with the full name, age, and priesthood office is displayed after at least three characters are typed. More characters refines the matching list. Once the desired name appears it must be selected before clicking the "Save" button.

Not having a list of names display or not having any eligible Aaronic Priesthood names displayed is not normal. If you run into this then try again another day or call the Global Service (GSD) for assistance. (Note: the hyperlink will only work for those with callings that have access to Leader and Clerk Resources)

Before calling, I'd try again in Incognito/Private mode. Cookie buildup can cause strange results.

The name must be typed with the last name first.

That is true if you are trying to type the whole name. If I type just the first name it still matches all those with that anywhere in there name, I just can't keep going with the last name to keep refining it.
