Donation Recorded Email - I Did Not Authorize

Post by jangerbauer »

Hi - I just received a donation confirmation email from the church but for a rather large donation (in the thousands) I never scheduled or authorized

I do pay my tithing online via bill payment through my bank -- so I do not get a donation confirmation email every time I pay tithing.

On occasion I do use the church donation portal to pay extra tithing, but with regard to the email I just received, I did not pay this or schedule this amount.

Was this email sent out in error? As a safeguard, I have deleted my bank account from my church account, but I suspect this may have been a technical error.

I'd suggest you check your donation history as well as check with your bank to see if the transaction actually took place.

I received one email that matched a donation amount from March 2025. I have some acquaintances who received multiple emails, matching their donations back to January 2025.
