Boundary for Language Branch Discrepancy
We recently had to adjust our stake boundary a few miles south to encompass a new housing development phase that extended into the neighboring stake. This all went smoothly. However, the branch president of the Spanish branch pointed out that his boundaries still follow the old stake lines. Any of his members living in the new phase of the subdivision show up as living in the stake but outside of the branch. I can find nothing in LCR's boundary tool that lets me adjust the branch's boundaries. What am I missing? Thanks!

Out of curiosity, what happened to the family ward that took in the new development? Did it's boundaries change, or are they still the old one?

I moved the ward boundary, in fact. And the stake and mission boundary went with it. They are all correct. I simply cannot find the Spanish Branch boundary on the tool anywhere.

Language wards can go into neighboring stake boundaries. It's possible those have to be changed at a level above the host stake, especially if it already goes into another stake.
This is probably a "contact support" issue.

Re: Boundary for Language Branch Discrepancy
I believe in the US, there's a few variations. Sometimes language branches are stake-wide units (as is the case in our Councils). Other times they exist inside a language stake, and could be geographical. I also know that there are stakes with mixed English and multiple non-English units, and I don't know how those boundaries are defined. And at times stake presidents can agree that a language branch can extend across stake boundaries, as @russellhltn states, although I 'believe' that the unit boundaries would still only be aligned with the 'host' stake, not with both stakes (but I may be mistaken). All to state that I'm not surprised this might require help from GSD.mcallaghan wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 3:08 pm I moved the ward boundary, in fact. And the stake and mission boundary went with it. And interestingly enough, we had a similar situation last year where regular English-speaking units were moved between three stakes, which of course changed stake boundaries. One of those stakes has a language branch, so I just checked the online directory map which I have access to. And sure enough, the online branch boundaries still show the old stake boundaries, just as you're describing.
So if you do end up contacting GSD, please return here and post a response about what was done. I'll then pass that info along to the corresponding local branch/stake clerk for them to pursue!
