"Choose Calendar" & Category Bug

1. Email Reminders, Calendar Categories
We are testing out categories for events and email reminders. Is the default for each member set to receive ALL calendars and categories, and then they opt out?

Could this be synced to what quorums and classes the adults and children are in? Or are we to coach members on updating their Calendar preferences as they change over time? The LDS Tools app already tracks which classes adults, youth and children are assigned to, as updated in LCR each year.


2. Email Notification Groups
One bug or fix:
When Activity Days Calendar is selected, the entire Primary is still notified. This is intended for ages 7-11, so we've had younger children be notified and confused. How do we update the Calendar Option for Activity Days to not include Primary? The Youth have several quorum breakdowns, I'm wondering if their email reminders are set up properly as well. This could also be because members have to manually deselect Activity Days, but I'd have to reach out to the members to deselect Activity Days, then re-add once their child is 7 next year.

I'm not sure what the default is, but it's completely up to the user to select the proper calendar. It's also up to them if they get an email reminder or not. There's nothing leaders can do other than to encourage members.

The calendar system isn't aware of the member's classes. A male in primary is as likely to see the Relief Society calendar as they are to see their own. The calendar names are just a free-form text field with no meaning at all.

That's helpful to know that the calendar name categories aren't "smart" and just check box opt in options. Thanks for your response, we should just make a push to educate members about the tools and customization. So many great tools available!
