Running Zoom with a Tablet

Post by juddwhetten »

Has anyone run a Ward Zoom sacrament meeting using a Tablet? If so, what brand and model? We just began using the RL500 camera with WIFI audio and video.

Our building has a computer in a closet, near the front of the chapel, that takes microphone and camera input and feeds it to Zoom. Our stake technology specialist set up the computer so it can be connected to remotely with VNC. As the ward technology specialist for a few months, I ran the sacrament meeting broadcast from my phone using RealVNC Viewer. RealVNC Viewer is available on both iOS and Android. There are likely other screen sharing options that would work the same. Unfortunately, I don't know as much about the computer side of the setup.

If you are familiar with OBS you can run your meeting on the main computer using OBS and then use OBS controller on your phone or tablet to change the scenes set up for the Sacrament meeting. I'm able to do that with a Samsung tablet and a really cheap Motorolla phone.
